Military OneSource asks all incoming military personnel to report to the Housing Services Office before arranging off-post housing. It's at the One Stop, Building 3494 on Honest John Road, 256-876-6666 (DSN 746-6666), open weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They also help with BAH setup and run a rental partnership program.

Redstone Communities runs on-post housing from Building 302 on Hughes Drive, 256-400-5940. Newcomers can join the waiting list once they receive orders, and active-duty members get priority. For somewhere to land first, the IHG Army Hotel Candlewood Suites on post takes reservations at 256-924-7707, with priority for active-duty members and DoW civilians who have orders or are on TDY. There are no barracks on Redstone.

BAH is based on your rank, your dependency status and your permanent duty station's ZIP code. Look yours up with the official Defense Travel Management Office BAH tool. Nationally, 2026 rates went up by an average of 4.2 percent, effective January 1, 2026. We don't quote BAH amounts here because yours depends on your situation.

If you need to buy before you get here, ask us about options for touring from a distance. Ask early whether remote signing can work for you. In Madison County, the home must be your primary residence on October 1, and the deadline to apply is December 31.
